Rise of Anarchy!
A year has passed, but not quick enough for the world’s citizens. The Global Depression has not released its grip on the economies of the world. Envision Anarchy’s successful chemical attacks on the Coalition and Mercenary forces were only a small part of a larger coordinated bombing of private and public targets across the globe. The loss of lives numbered in the tens of thousands, but the true damage was to the public’s psyche.

Medipharmatronics is a mere shell of its former self. While the Coalition forces were able to take a small supply of the koolamula antidote and some of the recent fern harvest, much of the company’s assets were still intact after the clash. However, its board quickly removed its CEO Rich Gruber because of his failures to protect the company and the serious American accusations that he was conspiring with Envision Anarchy’s leader John Q. Public. The new CEO’s first task was to improve the company’s public image. As a result, its security force of mercenaries was greatly reduced and reined in to save costs and eliminate their black mark on the company’s image. Yet, Medipharmatronics sits on the verge of collapse like many of the world’s multinational corporations.

While victorious, the Coalition has also been weakened. The physiological effects of the persistent Global Depression, the chemical attacks of a year ago, and subsequent Envision Anarchy actions has eliminated in many people’s minds the trust and belief in their current governments and economic institutions. A couple of the Coalition member nations have collapsed, including neighboring Mexico. Yet more unnerving is the number of governments that have taken authoritarian actions to forestall their own demise. It has gone as far as marshal law being declared in Germany and other countries. Even segments of the American population are advocating for a hard crackdown at home to stop Envision Anarchy.

Envision Anarchy has been strengthening over the past year and begun to rival some of the largest political movements in the history of the world. It has evolved from its beginnings of demonstrations and mass strikes to an armed movement, with capabilities that are beginning to move beyond simple terrorist acts. The call for complete revolution has gained followers from all walks of life. It has not been without setbacks, including the assassination of its first leader by Coalition forces. However another has stepped into the title of John Q. Public and seeks to take the group to new heights.

The entire world is ailing and on the verge of economic and political collapse, setting the stage for the 2010 chapter of the
Hunt for the Cure!
